Feeling Grecian in my Emerald Green Pleated Dress

Pleats have been a prominent trend over the past year. Even in 2017, we can still see the trend going strong. I personally find Pleats to be one of the most wearable trends. Unlike a lot of other trends we see on the runways, that can be difficult to wear on a daily basis. And what’s not to love about Pleats, there are so many different styles and variations avialable, you will definitely find one that works for you.

While I have completely overindulged in Pleated Skirts, I wanted to try wearing Pleats in a different way. So I started browsing through shops and looking online for inspiration. That’s when I found the most gorgeous Emerald Green Pleated Dress from Pomelo Fashion. As surprising as it sounds I have never tried on a Maxi Pleated Dress. Being petite in height (I am only 5’2); I have always been afraid to try Maxi Dresses. I thought they would overpower my frame and make me look larger than I am. But I really wanted to try one, because they look so effortlessly chic and are so versatile.

Through trial and error, I have learnt a few styling tricks that allow you to play with your proportions. If you are petite like me, it’s important to define your waist with a belt. This will help to create more of an hourglass silhouette and make you seem taller. So for example with this dress, I choose to wear a skinny Gold Belt at the waist. It looked perfect against the stunning Emerald Green colour of the Dress and it instantly made me feel feel taller.

This Pleated Dress from Pomelo Fashion can be worn in so many different ways. I wanted to create a Grecian look, so I paired it with gladiator style sandals. They worked really well with the Dress because it has slits on the side. For the accessories, I kept it simple with one of my favourite tassel statement earrings and these beautiful reminder bracelets from the Mindful Company. This is one piece in my wardrobe that I cannot wait to style in many different ways.

That green is just so perfect and love how you’ve broken up the maxi with the belt because it really does help with the overall silhouette – especially with girls with a petite frame like you!

    So stunning lady xx

The funny thing is (well, actually it’s not funny, it’s fashion skills) is that you don’t look “short” at all in this dress, despite it being a maxi. By marking your waist you have a wonderful outfit and the emerald really suits you well. Add a few details and you’ve created a perfect outfit just like you did here!

This dress is beautiful on you! I love the color and the cut. I too am short and have yet to wear a maxi dress but this would be something I would wear. Also love your stack bracelet and the meanings behind them.

What a stunning pleated dress! The only pleated anything I’ve ever worn was for homecoming in high school and I LOVED it and have no idea why I don’t have more of this is my wardrobe. I love that you added that braided belt for added detail! You look so beautiful!

To me pleats are timeless and seem to never go away. I absolutely love pleats and think they go well on a skirt or a dress. Pleats can add just the right amount of class to a look. I also think that jewelry and pleats go hand and hand. I have no clue why, but they just flow so nicely together. I am short just like you so you are totally right about the belt. I try to style belts around my waist all the time if a dress is not form fitting.

The color of your dress is simply stunning, and I love how you paired this maxi with the belt. Pretty accessories as well. Now that I am all done gushing about your outfit, lets talk about your hair and make up! Lovely, as usual. You always look incredible Sarah 🙂
