Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating :). Hope you had a beautiful day with your loved ones, there is nothing like celebrating Eid with your family. At times like these I really miss my family and being home, but I am so lucky to have the most amazing friends in Singapore, that really are just like my family. There are a few things I look most forward to on Eid; meeting all of our family and friends, eating the most delicious food and dressing up of course.
Every since I was a child, dressing up in new Eid Clothes was a tradition and always the highlight of my day. It was important to look your best, after all you were going to be visiting 10-20 families in a day :). Over the years, I have got into the habit of buying new clothes specifically for Eid each year. But, then I realised that I could hardly wear those heavy detailed outfits all year long and this year I wanted to invest in an outfit that was more versatile. So this year I decided to wear a traditional jacket from Sana Safinaz, but style it in a nontraditional way. I fell in love with this jacket, it is so regal and luxurious, wouldn’t you agree?
This was a very different look for me to style, as I don’t usually wear a lot of long jackets (partly to do with the weather in Singapore) but I loved experimenting and creating a look with this one. I wore the jacket with a simple Black Dress and a pair of Metallic Leggings, that I already had in my wardrobe. But since it was Eid, I could accessorise a lot more than usual, so I went all out with the jewelry and wore Gold shoes to finish the look. Honestly, it felt great to put a look together without having to buy a whole new outfit, and I am sure I can style this jacket in several ways.
For my second look, which was for a dinner at night, I chose to wear a Cape Top from another Pakistani Designer, Momina Teli. This is a gorgeous detailed Cape, the back detailing of this piece is absolutely stunning. I wore it with the same Metallic leggings as the first look but changed the accessories to make it more suitable for the dinner. Unfortunately we were very rushed and the lighting wasn’t great, so I couldn’t get a proper picture of the outfit (only managed to take a few shots of the back detailing). But I will definitely wear it again soon to show you how I styled the the full look.
