This Sunday, I attended the NARS Beauty Breakfast event held at the Island Cafe in Tangs. This was one of the first of several sessions of talks being held in conjunction with Singapore Fashion Week (SFW), Mercury Social (Event Organizer for SFW) and NSRS (Official Makeup Sponsor of SFW).
The panel consisted of four female entrepreneurs (from left to right in the photo below), Rachel Lim (Co-Founder of Love Bonito), Jaime Lee (Founder of The Paper Bunny), Aarika Lee (Marketing Director of Elementary) and Charmaine Seah-Ong (Co-Founder of Elementary). Each of the ladies spoke about how they started their own businesses and the challenges they face on a daily basis. I found it so inspirational to listen to such empowering stories about successfully managing entrepreneurship and family life. After the session ended I had a chance to speak to the ladies and they all gave me such positive advice for my Blog.
I know its still early days in my Blog, but I do believe that this will help me towards a new career path in a Fashion related field (something that I am truly passionate about). Having a work life balance is so important, especially after you are married and have children. And there is nothing more satisfying than becoming your own boss and being able to manage your children and your married life :).
There was also a NARS Goody Bag at the event, which included:
- Two NARS Skin products, the Hydrating Toner and Moisturizing Cream (something I had wanted to try for a long time).
- A sample of the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint (this is a new matte tinted moisturizer). However this wasn’t in my skin shade, so I couldn’t properly try this yet.
- We could also choose any two products worth S$80. So as a lipstick lover, I naturally went for the Audacious Lipsticks and picked Grace (coral pink) and Annabel (bright red). The Audacious lipsticks are highly pigmented, very smooth and offer full coverage. I have always been a fan of NARS Blush, Concealer and Highlighter, and I am totally sold on the formula of these lipsticks.
