In the last six months two trends that I have fallen in love with and embraced are Culottes and all things with Pleats. So when I saw this pair of Pleated Culottes that too in the colour Red, I had to have it.
What I love most about this particular pair apart from the bold colour, is its silhouette. These culottes resemble a long flowy pleated skirt more than they do a pair of Trousers and when worn they look incredibly chic. Some culottes can have an unusual shape and make you look frumpy so it is important to choose the right pair for your height and body type.
This pair is slightly longer on my height than the traditional culotte length, but I still think petite girls can wear this length. If you are petite, you would need to tuck in the Top into the culottes for the most flattering look.
If you are Tall I would opt for a longer and well fitted Top, which doesn’t need to tucked in. The fitting of the Top is key though, because you could end up looking very boxy and wide; totally not the look you are trying to achieve :). And if you can pull them off, then Crop Tops would also work really well with Culottes.
For my look today I wore my Culottes with a Floral Top from Zara. It had elements of Orange in it so I loved pairing my Orange Pumps with the Red Culottes to complete the look. I feel the Orange complements the Red so well, if I had worn a pair of Black Pumps it would be a safe choice but would not have worked as well. Don’t be afraid to wear Orange for the right pop of colour to an outfit.

Whenever I have seen pleated skirts or couletts I have never been confident to buy
Always remind you of sixties but am mistaken. They look so elegant and smart
With a well matched top.
