Chic Coloured Stripes

Following on from my previous post, Stripes were a big trend on the Spring 2016 runways. So I wanted to try out the Coloured Stripes trend.

I found these 70’s Chic Culottes from Zara ; I loved the striking colour palette of burnt orange, mustard and navy blue. They are high waisted and cropped Culottes but fit just above my ankles, I think they are the perfect height for Petite women (I’m 5’2). It’s surprisingly difficult to find the right culottes, specifically for my height because either they are too long, or too wide, but these were a perfect fit. I would recommend getting this particular pair from Zara, they had several colours of which I picked three.

The rest of the outfit is pretty neutral, except my Red Shoes which contrasted well with the colours on the Culottes.

My advice ladies, is that you can never have too many striped pieces in your closet, don’t limit yourself to a basic striped T-Shirt. I would wear a striped dress, a sweater with different coloured stripes, a striped shirt, striped skirt or big striped trousers. Stripes are fun so remember to have fun with your wardrobe. Everything is possible!
