How I Styled UGG’s Spring/Summer 2017 Shoes

There are two types of people in the world; those who adore wearing UGG’s and those who just don’t understand the hype behind the shoes. I personally have always wanted to own a pair of UGG shoes. But I honestly felt it wasn’t practical to wear them living in warm climates like Singapore and Qatar. So I was so pleasantly surprised to see UGG’s latest Spring/Summer 2017 collection. It may sound surprising, but they have so much more to offer than their iconic furry boots.

My two favourite pairs of shoes from their latest collection are the Classic Unlined Mini and the Raven Bow Sandals (part of the UGG by Preen collection). I love that both shoes are perfect for Singapore’s warm and humid climate. To show you the wearability of these UGG shoes, I wanted to style two looks with them.

One of UGG‘s biggest partnerships last year was with Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi are known for their romantic and contemporary designs. They created an exclusive two-piece collection of sandals that reflects closely to their brand aesthetic. The shoes were part of their SS17 London Fashion Week show and were perceived well by all.

Out of the two designs my favourite was the Raven Bow leather sandal. It is a playful yet edgy style that features an oversized bow with stitching details. In my opinion, this is the only pair of shoes you need to update your Spring wardrobe. I know that they may seem intimidating to wear at first. But once you wear them, you will never want to take them off. I choose to wear the sandals with a rugged pair of ripped jeans to show off the edginess of the shoes. And to add a feminine touch to the look, I paired the jeans with a Bell Sleeves top and a Silver t-shirt. For me, this was the perfect way to wear the sandals on the weekend.

The second shoe that I want to introduce to you, is the Classic Unlined Mini boot. This is a lightweight version of UGG’s famous boots minus the fur lining. The boots are crafted in a breathable, perforated suede. I have been wearing the Tawny colour on repeat for the last few weeks. The boot was made to be worn in warmer weather and is perfect for the transitional months of spring. They are the perfect touch to complete a casual look and are so comfortable. I loved wearing mine with cropped jeans and an oversized striped top. But they would equally work well with a dress, skirt or a romper. As this boot is a shorter style, my only advice would be to wear something cropped on the bottom. Tucking your jeans into these particular boots, will not look as attractive.

Both pairs of shoes are so different from each other. But they have one thing common, is that they add a touch of “coolness” to your look.  And they are the only thing you need to create an effortlessly chic look.

What did you think of UGG‘s Spring/Summer 2017 collection? Do you find them more wearable and Spring appropriate? I am also curious to know which pair was your favourite?

Both of these shoes are currently available at the UGG store located at B1-141, Galleria Level, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. For more information on the latest collection please do visit their website – UGG.com.

I’ve seen the first shoes on IG but I never knew they were from UGG’s collection. You are right, they are very edgy and different from their usual collection. I love how you styled them, totally I would wear them. The booties look so comfy to run errands and walk around the city. I love them even more without the fur. Both outfits are beautiful!
Hope you had a great weekend! Aurela xoxo

I saw the Raven sandals on your Instagram and was shocked that Ugg made such cute shoes. I’d have to say quite honestly that I was never a fan of their boots, but my husband (oddly) really likes them. He says they remind him of eskimo shoes. Lol. Anyway, but I’m really loving the more modern design of the Raven sandals especially with the bow. I have a pair of flats that look like that and love it to death. I think the sandals would be a great alternative for summer though!

I love Uggs and especially during the winter I always bust them out. They are so warm and snuggly. I didn’t know they made such cute slides too. I love the white exaggerated bow on the slides. Too chic. The boots without the shearling is also perfect to throw on during warmer weather. I need to check out Ugg again for their spring and summer styles. xoxo, Christine

My idea of an Ugg is the typical classic UGG boots. I had no idea they came with such cool spring collection. The bow white sandals are so so cute and you styled them so well. I also liked the leather tan booties and how you wore it with a stripe shirt. Simple chic! Thanks for sharing these UGG spring shoes. xo shalini http://www.styledevotee.com

I absolutely adore the sandals, the bow makes this piece unique and beyond chic. They are great to add visual interest to any look. Love the way you styled them and I agree with you, they are perfect to embrace Spring -Summer. I am impressed that UGG’s have such a great deesigns, I have the idea that they only designs the style of boots you are wearing. Love both looks!

When I hear about UGG, I always picture boots. Living in CA, I don’t even own a pair as those boots are too warm. So I’m shocked to see that they make other style shoes. This is fantastic. Those white sandals are super cute and they are something I totally see myself wearing. Thank you for sharing, I would have never known 🙂

Those oversized bow sandals are adorable! I’m a huge UGG fan I in addition to several pairs of boots, I actually have the cutest gold sandals as well. I think their Spring collection is adorable and can easily be transitioned into summer. All my UGGS are so comfortable so yes to UGGS year-round!!

I an actually one of these people who didn’t believe in the hype until I gave in and bought a pair for a ski trip and its all history from there. I have twinned with my daughter in the classic tall boots (there is something insanely cute about a tiny little person waddling in a pair of fluffy uggs). I love that they now have warm climate friendly shoes such as sandals and those unlined and perforated tall boots for the feet to breathe. Both the sandal collab and the boots are extremely cute and I would wear them without a question.

I like the way you started your post. There ARE two types of people in the world lol. I am among the UGG lovers, mostly for the comfortable aspect of the brand. I went to Syracuse University, where it SNOWS non-stop from October through April and I had UGGS in every single color, and worse them daily. No better shoe for pure comfort and warmth. I am especially loving their new spring/summer collection, the designs are so cute! Now I don’t even need to defend them anymore!

I was completely amazed when I saw these shoes on your Instagram post and couldn’t believe they were Uggs ! I told my mom about them and she got them for my daughter! Thank you so much!

Ahaha, I’m definitely the one who doesn’t understand that hype! 🙂 However, these Raven Bow leather sandals are so pretty, I would definitely wear them during the summer season. I love how you styled both looks. Maybe I have to re-think my prejudice against these shoes.

The UGG trend has been going on for many years and I hopped in the bandwagon during my University years. They stopped my feet from freezing during winter, but I never understood how can people actually wearing on warm weather. Heard you don’t feel the heat, so that must be true since you styled them in a spring outfit :). Anyways, love how you paired them in a casual yet chic manner. Wishing you a great day! xx

I have a pair of black fur lined Uggs that I wear once a year when it snows since we live in a relatively warm climate here in South Carolina! They are useful and warm which is why I purchased them. I’ve never even thought of Ugg outside of shoes to stay warm in so this is a refreshing tidbit of information! Raven Bow Sandals are so beautiful and I bet they are comfortable as well! Super stylish and I would definitely love to have them in my Spring/Summer wardrobe! Also, I love that they are still sticking with what they know and integrating boots in to a breathable Spring version! How inspired! I didn’t know about the partnership either but I’d say they were very good in achieving some designs that allows the brand to be more versatile to the seasons while still maintaining who they are!

I also have some pairs of UGGS, but lately I have not worn them anymore, because I did not have the opportunity. The most beautiful is they give you the feeling of comfort and warmth. For example, the booties I use without socks, even if out it s freeze, I feel fine. I like what you worn and I really believe it when you say they are so comfortable that you would not want to take them off anymore. Besides this brand gives you a feeling of well-being. And this is their winning point! I like 🙂

Omg these are uggs? I would never have known. Those sandals are amazing and those boots! I would totally wear them. I love how you’re rocking them too! I’m not a huge fan of uggs but I really like those boots

Who ever thought UGG would make such an amazing comeback from having been one of the most hyped brands in the early 00s, then ridiculed for years and now they make a comeback with new and old styles that are simply stunning. I also love how you styled them as they can be worn in the more cold spring days as well as hotter summer days! I just might need to get myself a pair of UGGs again. 🙂

OMG! I’m obsessed with the new UGGs styles! I used to wear UGGs all the time in High School, they were the “it boots” to have. They were also soo comfortable too! I stopped wearing them because I felt that the brand’s style didn’t change with the times. I am so happy to see the turnaround! These shoes are hot and so on trend! I really love the slides!

I have been such a fan of Uggs ever since my boarding school days in cold New England weather, and no matter what anyone says about them now, I still love them! It’s great that the brand is embracing new creative directions such as the Raven Bow leather sandals. Those are definitely my favorite of the two as they hit the perfect balance of being feminine and super chic. Plus, wearing white sandals- what could be more refreshing to wear or to look at? 😀 I applaud the brand’s trying to do the whole unlined boots thing too. It isn’t my cup of tea, but the perforated design is really quite clever and you style it beautifully. I can’t wait to see you style the sandals more as well!

I can’t believe that first pair of slides are Uggs- they are absolutely lovely. I used to wear Uggs a lot when I lived in the UK, but I can imagine them being sooo sweaty in a hot climate. These unlined ones are such a great alternative and I really like how you’ve styled them with the crop jeanss.
