There is nothing like being back home, especially because I only visit Doha once a year. As many of you know, I grew up in Doha, Qatar, before I moved to Singapore, six years ago. Some of you may have heard of Doha or transited at Hamad International Airport (if you flew Qatar Airways). But I am not sure if many of you would have visited this beautiful city. Growing up in Doha, I have always seen it as the underdog of the Middle East. It is a city that has yet to catch up to the fast paced life in Dubai, but it definitely has it’s own vibe. One that I will always love and hold close to my heart.
I usually spend my time with family and friends, eating lots of good food and shopping (it’s always sales season). This year I also decided to meet some of the Fashion Bloggers in Doha. One of my favourite is the beautiful Pooja Adam, she is half of the duo of the Les Rebelles Squad. Pooja and I, had been in touch over Instagram over the last year and had always supported one another. When I told her I would be visiting Doha, she instantly suggested that we should do a fun photoshoot together. In addition, we were so lucky to have the opportunity to collaborate with Per Lei Couture, a multi-brand luxury boutique.
Per Lei Couture is located at 18 La Croisette, in the Pearl in Doha. I was so excited to visit the boutique, it is known for stocking items from some of the most coveted international and regional Designers. As I was browsing through the racks, it truly felt as if I was going through a Net-a- Porter or Matches Fashion collection. Some of my favourite pieces were from Delpozo, Simone Rocha, Erika Cavallini, Johanna Ortiz and Osman. They also have stunning accessories and shoes from Sophia Webster, Charlotte Olympia, Malone Souliers and many more. After my first visit, I knew that Per Lei Couture was going to be my favourite go-to boutique in Doha. It was so inspiring to see a boutique stock so many different international and regional designers all under one roof. A concept like this has never really existed before in Doha.
For the collaboration we decided to shoot two different looks. It was honestly so difficult to choose just two, if I had more time I could pick many more. The first look is very fun and flirty, we have titled it “Ladies of Leisure”. This is the perfect look for catching up with your best friend over coffee and dessert. Being a fan of pleated skirts and bell sleeves, I wanted to choose a feminine and romantic look. So I picked a gorgeous skirt from Romance was Born and a beautiful sweater top from IO Couture. Isn’t the detailing on the sleeves just gorgeous? Pooja, on the other hand choose a completely different look, closer to her style. She is wearing a fun statement top from Isa Arfen, that she has styled and accessorised perfectly. She is truly such an inspirational fashionista.
In my mind I always knew that this collaboration would be special. I really love that we both have such different styles, yet we look amazing together and our outfits complement one another. Stay tuned for the second look.
This photoshoot was done by Sally, who herself is a Food Blogger in Qatar (Do visit her website – Flying Food Ninja.)
