Lets go Floral for Spring

It’s well known that Florals are a must have for Spring. Every year, we see that designers and retailers incorporate Floral prints into their collection. They may make slight alterations to the style, cut or colour of the garments according to the seasons. But it’s a print that continues to inspire them. While the thought of wearing Florals can be intimidating for some people, you don’t necessarily have to go all out! These days, Floral prints come in variety of colours and there are many ways to wear them. So you don’t necessarily have to go for the brightest or most boldest print.

For example, I am wearing the Jenetta Pleated Cut Out Shoulder Blouse from Pomelo Fashion. Now this is the type of Floral print that I can easily wear an style in multiple ways. I really love the cut out shoulder details, they are totally appropriate for the weather in Singapore. The Top has a slightly loose fitting, so its perfect for tucking into culottes, skirts or jeans. I personally always feel slimmer when I can tuck in my Top. Not only does this help to define my waist but it hides my mummy tummy. It’s the perfect styling trick for mothers, because most of us are more conscious about our tummy. No matter how hard I try to exercise or eat well, I still have a mummy tummy. But wearing clothes appropriately makes me feel less conscious.

So back to the outfit, I wore the Top with a fun pair of wide leg culottes. These are so chic and comfortable, I could seriously wear them all day. For the accessories, I wore one of my favourite pair of statement earrings from Lovisa. These are retailing for $19.99 and they come in a variety of colours (I currently own four!). The Emerald Green colour of the earrings complemented the outfit perfectly. Another accessory I can’t stop wearing these days is my new mini Chloé Drew bag. I actually bought this beauty on sale at 50% off while I was in Doha. Isn’t it the most perfect Metallic Neutral?

How do you feel about wearing Florals?

I actually love florals on myself, when they’re not overdone. This is definitely a look I would go for because the florals are against a neutral shade and everything else is kept simple. I can’t expect anything less from you though, Sarah. You always look great in whatever you wear 🙂

I’m not a floral person because I am frankly a little intimidated by all the mix of prints and colors. But your outfit I would actually wear (the whole look from head to toe) Black is my comfort color and dark floral tops speak to me more than happy pretty in your face florals. Perfect styled my dear!

This is a stunning floral look! You’re looks are always inspiring!I adore the shoes and skirt you paired with it and the cut of the blouse is so beautiful! I’m sitting here sipping my coffee in a new floral coat so obviously I’m a fan! I’ve been really focused on finding florals that are a bit different than most of the florals I’ve been seeing around! Lovely post and have a great weekend!

I adore floral pieces, and you’re quite right – floral is definitely a must-have pattern for spring. Recently I ordered a lot of floral dresses, so I really can’t wait for real spring to wear them all. This blouse looks just fab on you, I like the way you mixed it with these black skirt-trousers, looks great!

Completely agree with you that florals are a must in the Spring! What’s unique about your top is not only the off-shoulder details but also the dark background, which I love as a chic alternative to bright white florals. Plus the black floral trend if such an effortless way to transition from winter to spring as you did with this perfectly chic look! I have never heard of the term “mummy tummy” but it is adorable by the way! And I love that you’ve found a way to dress in a way that works for you and makes you feel good, as that’s always the most important thing 🙂 Seriously love how you paired the top with the wide leg pants and balanced out a lot of the darkness with those chic white pumps and that gorgeous Chloe bag! PS your earrings look so much more expensive than just $20- what a steal! I’ll definitely look into getting a pair myself 🙂 Thank you for sharing this gorgeous spring look- feeling totally inspired by it now! *^0^*

Florals are so hot for the summer. I can’t wait to go shopping for some summer close. I still have a few more weeks I think before I start really shopping. Lame when life expenses get in the way, but always I am loving how you styled this look. Your photos are so adorable and I think your shoes are so unique. These are a pair of shoes I need to look more into.

even i am so skinny., I still have a mommy tummy~ I absolutely love how you styled your pieces, normally i am scared to wear culottes because I feel it makes you look shorter, but this wide legged one look so wonderful on you and floral printed is def must-have!

Florals this spring are bigger than ever and I so agree we need to have them in our closets! I would personally go also for a top with solid bottom, or jeans. You look great!
